2024年臺南將迎來「臺南400」系列行動，臺南市政府於今(7)日舉行「臺南400啟動暨形象影片」發布記者會。會中首次對外發表「臺南400形象影片」，並闡述「臺南400」十大必看亮點，正式為「臺南400」行動揭開序幕，也宣示臺南這座擁有深厚歷史底蘊與人文脈絡的城市，以此迎接下個百年創新世紀的到來。明年將會有貫穿全年度的精彩展演活動與文化建設，邀請國人及全球旅人們一起造訪臺南，見證古都嶄新未來式。
臺南市長黃偉哲表示，臺灣於1624年捲入大航海時代的波瀾壯闊，荷蘭人航抵安平建立貿易據點之後的400年來，族群與文化間的碰撞、衝突及融合未曾停歇，也奠定臺南擁有面向世界開放和交流的悠久傳統。2024年迎來「臺南400」，它不僅是一場大型城市行動，而是一場以「臺灣歷史」為根基，以「臺南文化」為底蘊展開的國際行動。
臺南市文化局局長謝仕淵提到，臺南作為一座多元文化並立共生的城市，我們站在反思往昔歷史的基點，正視過去的殖民歷史、反省各波外來者對原住民造成的傷害。我們重新整理、審視臺灣先民的辛勤與奠基下來的文化基礎，期望回應當今世界對於追求和平的普世價值，「用過去豐沛現在，用和平守護未來」！
2024年「臺南400」系列行動，將整合臺南豐富的文化、觀旅與各產業資源，以包含文化大展、客家大展、原住民族群文化展、城市展、未來生活館及教育的時空旅行展在內多種動、靜態展演，揭示在地社會充沛多元的文化能量，帶動城市轉型再創新，大步迎向未來的下個百年，誠摯邀請全球各地的朋友，明年共同來臺南交陪，參與臺南400的過去、現在與未來！。
從2月台灣燈會、3月臺灣國際蘭展、8月台灣文化創意博覽會及10月台灣設計展等國際型展會，「臺南400」不僅是橫跨全市府各局處的行動，號召民間共同響應的民間參與計畫、視覺識別授權，更多面向展現民間能量的爆發力。

Launch of "Tainan 400 " Campaign in 2024!
In 2024, Tainan is set to launch the "Tainan 400" series of initiatives. The Tainan City Government held a press conference today (Dec 7) to announce the release of the "Tainan 400 Campaign Launch and Image Video." During the event, the "Tainan 400 Image Video" was unveiled to the public for the first time, featuring the ten key highlights of Tainan 400. This marks the official commencement of the Tainan 400 action plan and symbolizes Tainan's embrace of the next century of innovative progress, showcasing the city's rich historical heritage and cultural context. Next year, a series of exciting exhibitions and cultural events will unfold throughout the year, inviting locals and global travelers alike to visit Tainan, witnessing this historic city transformed into a city of tomorrow.
Tainan Mayor Huang Wei-che pointed out that Taiwan was swept into the global stage with the Age of Discovery in 1624. Over the past 400 years since the Dutch navigators first arrived and established a trading post in Anping, the collision, conflicts, and integration among different ethnicities and cultures have never ceased. This history has laid the foundation for Tainan's enduring tradition of openness and exchange with the world. The launch of Tainan 400 in 2024 represents more than just a large-scale urban initiative; it embodies an international endeavor firmly rooted in Taiwan's rich history and entrenched in Tainan's distinct culture, lifting the banner of peace.
Hsieh Shih-yuan, Director-General of the Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Tainan City Government, stressed that Tainan, as a city of diverse cultures coexisting harmoniously, stands at the reflection point of historical retrospection, faces its colonial past, and genuinely reflects on the mistreatment caused to the indigenous people by successive outsiders. We reorganize and examine the hard work of Taiwan's forefathers and the cultural foundation they laid, aspiring to resonate with the contemporary world's pursuit of universal values of peace. Hence, the campaign's motto has been aptly titled "Contemplate the Past, Enrich the Present, Safeguard the Future with Peace! "
In 2024, the Tainan 400 series of activities will integrate the rich cultural, tourism, and various industrial fabric of Tainan, encompassing a variety of dynamic and static exhibitions including cultural expos, Hakka exhibitions, indigenous cultural displays, urban showcases, futuristic living pavilions, and educational journeys through the rich history of the city. These will unveil the local society's abundant and diverse cultural momentum, driving urban transformation and innovation and propelling the city confidently towards the next century. Hsieh earnestly invites friends from around the world to visit and celebrate with Tainan next year to participate in Tainan 400, exploring its past, present, and future together!
From the Taiwan Lantern Festival in February, Taiwan International Orchid Show in March, Creative Expo Taiwan in August, and Taiwan Design Expo in October, the Tainan 400 campaign isn't just an initiative across various departments of the city government. It also calls for active public participation, authorization of visual identity, and showcases the explosive force of joint community involvement.
